Thompson Thrift 2023 Summer Intern Spotlight

Meet Kam! This summer, Kam is working with our Residential Design team to redline projects, select furniture, and work on floor plans. Kam is studying Interior Design at Indiana University and plans to graduate in May 2025. One fun fact about Kam is that she was awarded the MVP award for cheerleading in high school. When not at work, Kam loves playing with her dog, doing crafts, and organizing. In her role, Kam loves having real-world design experience to see what her future may look like after college.

Meet Hunter! This summer, Hunter is working with the Development team in the West region to complete parking studies, calculate impact fees, track project schedules, update summaries, and much more. Hunter plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2024 with a major in Finance and a minor in Real Estate Finance. At Purdue, Hunter is a Larsen Leaders Academy Honors Student and is involved in the Dean V. White Real Estate Society. In his free time, Hunter loves working out, playing guitar, and exploring the outdoors. Hunter's favorite part about working at Thompson Thrift is that interns play an integral role in projects across the country, and seeing the impact of the work team members do is extremely fulfilling.

Meet Tyler! This summer, Tyler is working with our Construction team in Daytona Beach, Florida as an office intern. Tyler plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2025 with a major in Construction Management Technology and a minor in Organizational Leadership. One fun fact about Tyler is that he helped build a house in Haiti. In his free time, Tyler loves spending time with friends and family and is involved in the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. In his internship, Tyler is excited to gain real-world knowledge of Project Management.

Meet Libby! This summer, Libby will be working alongside our Commercial team to do market research for upcoming commercial projects. Libby plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2025 with majors in Marketing and Finance. One fun fact about Libby is that she is teaching herself to play piano. In her free time, Libby loves exercising, spending time with friends, and listening to music. In her role, Libby loves working with the commercial team and gaining valuable knowledge about the industry.

Meet Dominic! This summer, Dominic is working alongside our Construction team at Upland Flats in Colorado Springs, CO to complete unit punches, daily logs, and weekly safety forms. Dominic plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2024 with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Organizational Leadership. In his free time, Dominic loves watching sports, hiking, and volunteering. In his role, Dominic loves always having something to do in the field and learning so much from his team.

Meet Chris! This summer, Chris is working with our Construction team at Palm Grove in Ellenton, FL to help with daily photos, reports, and a handful of other tasks. Chris plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2025 with a major in Construction Management. When not at work, Chris enjoys playing golf. Chris' favorite part about his internship is working with his team members and seeing the different phases of construction onsite.

Meet Shelby! This summer, Shelby is working with our Capital Markets team to help with investor gifts, communications, marketing materials, and more. Shelby plans to graduate from Indiana University in May 2024 with majors in Marketing and Business Analytics. At IU, Shelby is a member of the waterski and wakeboarding club. In her free time, she loves to workout, cook, and spend time with family and friends. In her role, Shelby loves how she gets to have her hand in many different projects and is looking forward to all the learning opportunities this summer.

Meet Maddie! This summer, Maddie is working alongside our Southeast Residential Development team to create project schedules, review reports, complete parking and density studies, and more. Maddie plans to graduate from Indiana University in 2025 with majors in Finance and Real Estate. At IU, Maddie is involved in the Commercial Real Estate Workshop, Real Estate Club, and Best Buddies. One fun fact about Maddie is that she was born at 10:09 on October 9. In her free time, Maddie likes reading, hiking, and listening to music. So far in her internship, Maddie has loved learning from her team members and expanding her knowledge on the real estate industry.

Meet Nate! This summer, Nate is working on our Construction team at Canter in Ocala, Florida to complete unit punches and give progress updates and projections. Nate is majoring in Construction Management at Purdue University and plans to graduate in May 2024. One fun fact about Nate is that he is certified as a forklift and skid steer operator. When he's not at work, Nate is often found playing basketball, going to the gym, skateboarding, or spending time with his friends and family. In his role, Nate loves getting hands-on experience, seeing daily progress, and learning from the full-time field team.

Meet Parker! During his summer internship, Parker is working with our Accounting team to prepare bank reconciliation statements, help with budgeting, and review financial statements. Parker currently attends IUPUI and plans to graduate in May 2025 with majors in Accounting and Finance. At IUPUI, Parker is involved in the Campus Outreach program. One fun fact about Parker is that he used to compete in Rubik's Cube competitions. In his free time, Parker enjoys watching movies and playing disc golf and the guitar. Parker's favorite thing about his role at Thompson Thrift is the team members he works with, who have welcomed him as part of the TT family.

Meet Alyssa! During her internship, Alyssa is working on our Community Management team at The Sophia in Venice, Florida. Alyssa currently attends Lansing Community College, where she is pursuing a Business Associates Degree. She plans to graduate in the summer of 2023. Alyssa loves working on self-development in her free time, such as reading, staying active, and learning new skills. One fun fact about Alyssa is that she used to hate reading books but now reads daily. In her role at Thompson Thrift, Alyssa loves how everyone is so supportive, kind, and helpful.

Meet Ben! In his internship, Ben is working alongside our Construction team at Alta25 in Monument, Colorado. Ben works to conduct daily manpower counts, manage inter-trade relations, ensure worker safety, and assist other team members with their duties. Ben plans to graduate from Auburn University in December 2025 with a major in Building Science and a minor in Business. At Auburn, Ben is involved in the Associated General Contractors student chapter and the Theme Park Engineering and Design Club. When not at work, Ben likes to fill his time playing soccer and going on long-distance runs. One fun fact about Ben is that he has visited all 50 states. Since interning at Thompson Thrift, Ben has loved the team he works with and has felt constant support from all team members.

Meet Carter! This summer, Carter is working on our Commercial Development team to assist with site selection, underwriting, and highest and best-use analyses. Carter currently goes to school at IUPUI and has plans to graduate in December 2023 with majors in Finance, Commercial Real Estate, and International Business. At IUPUI, Carter is involved in the Real Estate Club and Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity. He also serves as an Honors College Peer Mentor and is President of the powerlifting club. In his free time, Carter enjoys weightlifting, cooking, and listening to music. One fun fact about Carter is that he is nationally ranked in powerlifting. In his role, Carter loves that he can touch all parts of a development from start to finish of a project.

Meet Cole! In his summer internship, Cole is working with our Land Acquisitions team to complete rent comps, tax analyses, and impact fees. Cole plans to graduate from Indiana University in May 2025 with degrees in Finance and Accounting. At IU, Cole is a part of Indiana University Dance Marathon's Hospitality Group, the Office Student Fraternity Life Judicial Board, and the Student Athletic Board. When not at work, Cole enjoys barbequing, playing golf, and listening to rock music. One fun fact about Cole is that he can windmill dunk a basketball. As an intern at Thompson Thrift, Cole loves being part of a team that cares about him.

Meet Owen! During his internship, Owen is working with our Construction team at Slate at Fishers District in Fishers, Indiana to complete punch lists, turn over units, and more. Owen plans to graduate from Colorado State University in May 2024 with a major in Construction Management. At CSU, Owen participated in an independent study to make fiber reinforcing and other components of concrete with corn. In his free time, Owen enjoys snowboarding and playing both the guitar and mandolin. One fun fact about Owen is that he and his family raised guide dogs for 8 years. In his internship, Owen loves working with his team members onsite.

Meet Harvey! This summer, Harvey is working alongside our Construction team at Drift in Daytona Beach, Florida to complete punch lists, facilitate QC checks, manage cleanups, organize onsite materials, track RFI's, and work on photograph updates. Harvey is majoring in Building Science and minoring in Business at Auburn University. Harvey plans to graduate in December 2025. In his free time, Harvey enjoys hiking, hunting, and working on technology and computers. One fun fact about Harvey is that he has a 2-year-old German Shepherd rescue named Rocky. In his role, Harvey loves learning and spending the days with his team.

Meet Josh! In his summer internship, Josh is with our Southeast Residential Development Team working on site plans, assisting developers with schedules and proposals, and communicating with officials about upcoming projects. Josh is studying Civil Engineering at Purdue University and plans to graduate in May 2025. At Purdue, Josh is a member of Engineers Without Borders. In his free time, Josh enjoys working out, playing sports, and spending time with friends. One fun fact about Josh is that he has a dog named Toby and a cat named Meek. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Josh loves how welcoming and helpful his entire team is.

Meet Shad! In his internship, Shad is working alongside our Capital Markets team to complete investor data audits and create abstracts for loan agreements in residential and commercial projects. Shad is graduating from Butler University in December 2023, where he is majoring in Finance and Accounting. At Butler, Shad is a member of the Financial Managerial Association. In his free time, Shad enjoys hiking, playing basketball and golf, and spending time with friends and family. One fun fact about Shad is that he has a pet lizard named Jose Cuervo. In his role, Shad loves gaining real-world experience while being surrounded by great people.

Meet Logan! This summer, Logan is working alongside our Preconstruction team to help with projects in Pensacola, FL and Fishers, IN. Logan plans to graduate from Indiana State University in the fall of 2026 with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Philosophy. At Indiana State, Logan is in the Honors College and plays for the school's football team. When not at work, Logan enjoys exercising and powerlifting. One fun fact about Logan is that he was born and raised in Paris, Illinois. In his internship, Logan enjoys being around great people who are willing to put others first.

Meet Will! This summer, Will is working with our IT department to help transfer data into a data warehouse and create visual dashboards. Will plans to graduate from Indiana University in May 2024 with a major in Informatics and minors in Human-Centered Computing and Web Design. At IU, Will is the Director of Dance Relations for Indiana University's Dance Marathon. When he's not working, Will enjoys sailing and playing golf. In his internship, Will enjoys analyzing and manipulating all different kinds of data that he works with.

Meet Dayson! This summer, Dayson is working alongside our Construction team to complete punch lists, make observations, talk to subcontractors, and more. Dayson currently attends Purdue University, where he plans to graduate in May 2024 with a major in Construction Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship. In his free time, Dayson enjoys working out. One fun fact about Dayson is that he was a swimmer for 11 years and set school records. In his role, Dayson loves working with and learning from an amazing team everyday.

Meet Korbin! During his internship, Korbin is working with TTC out of our Terre Haute office to advance construction on The Maddox in Buckeye, Arizona. Korbin is expected to graduate from Indiana State University in May 2025 but is on track to finish sooner with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Finance. At Indiana State, Korbin plays running back for the school's football team. When not at work, he enjoys cooking, working out, and hanging out with friends and family. One fun fact about Korbin is that he has never had coffee. In his internship, Korbin loves meeting new people, and he feels like the people make Thompson Thrift a great place to be.

Meet Sierra! This summer, Sierra is working alongside our Construction team at Canter in Ocala, Florida, where she is learning the daily roles and tasks of the Project Manager and Project Engineer. Sierra plans to graduate from Purdue University in December 2025 with a major in Construction Management Technology, a minor in Organizational Leadership, and a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Additionally, at Purdue, Sierra is involved in WiCM, WiT and is an undergraduate teaching assistant for the Construction Management Technology department. When she's not working, Sierra enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog. One fun fact about Sierra is that she was born and raised in Traverse City, MI. In her internship with Thompson Thrift, Sierra loves being able to dive in depth with the project and her team members.

Meet Trevor! During his time at Thompson Thrift, Trevor is working with our Preconstruction team on upcoming residential projects in Georgia and Florida. Trevor will graduate in May 2024 with a major in Construction Management from Indiana State University. When not a work, Trevor likes to spend his free time golfing. One fun fact about Trevor is that he is in the National Guard. In his role, Trevor loves the team he works with.

Meet Carter! This summer, Carter is working alongside our Commercial team to help with the preconstruction of projects in Arizona, Florida, and Indiana. Carter currently attends Purdue University, where he studies Construction Management and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and plans to graduate in May 2025. At Purdue, Carter is a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) and is an executive member of Beta Sigma Psi. When he's not at work, Carter enjoys playing golf. One fun fact about Carter is that he likes to fly small aircraft and drones. In his role, Carter likes helping his team members and learning something new every day.

Meet Griffin! In his internship, Griffin is working with our Residential team to assist in regular reporting and market research. Griffin is majoring in Business and Economics at Hanover College and plans to graduate in May 2025. At Hanover, Griffin is a Lead Student Ambassador and a member of the Men's Golf team. In his free time, Griffin enjoys golfing, fishing, and working out. At Thompson Thrift, Griffin loves the variety of data and information he sees on the different markets, submarkets, and sites.

Meet Michael! This summer, Michael is working alongside our Preconstruction team to assist with upcoming projects in Florida and Colorado. Michael attends Purdue University, where he is majoring in Construction Management. Michael plans to graduate in December 2023. When not at work, Michael enjoys grilling and playing golf and baseball. In his role, Michael is excited to grow his knowledge of the construction industry with firsthand experience.

Meet Ray! In his internship, Ray is working with the construction team at The Depot to help manage submittals, RFIs and change events and conduct site visits. Ray plans to graduate from Purdue University in December 2023 with a major in Construction Management. At Purdue, Ray is involved in different intramural sports. In his free time, Ray likes going on walks with his dog, Harley. One fun fact about Ray is that he is a sergeant in the army reserves. At Thompson Thrift, Ray loves the company culture and being a part of a team where he can contribute to something bigger than himself.

Meet Blake! Blake is currently working alongside our Community Management team at Upland Flats in Colorado Springs to learn about lease-up community operations, financials, and construction. Blake plans to graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma with his MBA in May 2024. One fun fact about Blake is that he played baseball in college. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Blake has loved the team he works with and that every day has different challenges.

Meet Ahnae! This summer, Ahnae is working with our Community Management team at Slate at Fishers District in Fishers, Indiana. Ahnae attends Ball State University and plans to graduate in December 2024 with a major in Residential Property Management and a minor in Marketing. At Ball State, Ahnae is the marketing chair of the Commercial Real Estate Club. In her free time, Ahnae enjoys painting and drawing. One fun fact about Ahnae is that she and Scalet Johansson share the same birthday. In her role at Thompson Thrift, Ahnae has loved the team members she's surrounded with.

Meet Jake! This summer, Jake is working alongside the Construction team in Fort Collins, Colorado to build The Quarry. Jake is a student at Colorado State University and currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management with plans to graduate in 2024. In his free time, Jake likes to snowboard, camp, and go mountain biking. One fun fact about Jake is that his dad operates a framing building called Thompson Sitz Construction, which is very close to Thompson Thrift Construction. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Jake has loved working in the field with his team.

Meet Andrew! In his internship, Andrew is working alongside the Residential Preconstruction and Design team to plan reviews and help in design coordination meetings. Andrew plans to graduate in 2025 from Purdue University with a major in Design and Construction Integrations and a minor in Building Information Modeling. At Purdue, Andrew is on the National Association of Home Building Competition Team, the Polytechnic Student Council, and Student Government. When not at work, Andrew enjoys trivia, hiking, and playing basketball and pickleball. One fun fact about Andrew is that he was undefeated in pickleball for two years. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Andrew likes getting to wear many different hats, making every day different.

Meet Hunter! This summer, Hunter is working alongside our Construction team at Notch 66 in Longmont, Colorado to help with manpower, daily logs, inventory, photos, and observations. Hunter attends Colorado State University and is studying Construction Management with plans to graduate in 2025. In his free time, Hunter enjoys hunting and dog training. One fun fact about Hunter is that he was a rescue swimmer in the Navy for 6 years. In his role, Hunter loves how much he is learning and how much responsibility he has been given.

Meet Jace! In his internship this summer, Jace is assisting our Construction team in Wyoming, MI. In the field, Jace is managing dumpsters and checking water heating blocking and medicine cabinet openings. Jace attends Indiana State University and plans to graduate in May 2025 with a degree in Construction Management. One fun fact about Jace is that he played football for Indiana State. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Jace loves being able to meet and interact with new people.
