Thompson Thrift recently hosted two Serve Days in Colorado on Thursday, June 6, at Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center and Friday, June 7, at Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado.
A group of 29 team members and six family members engaged in various tasks, including pulling weeds, cleaning and rebuilding stairs, and a riding trail obstacle course at Hearts and Horses. This non-profit organization is devoted to offering therapeutic riding sessions for people with disabilities, at-risk youth, veterans, and the elderly, especially those with dementia.
At Care and Share Food Bank, 20 team members sorted donated food, checked expiration dates and damaged items, and prepared food to be gathered into food boxes to be given out to the community and local food pantries. The team sorted over 5,000 pounds of food during the day, contributing significantly to the food bank's mission of fighting hunger and food insecurity in Southern Colorado communities.
“I have participated in 2 Serve Days so far and each time is such a rewarding experience. It is amazing seeing the company I love to work for, give back to such impactful organizations in the community I was raised in.” – Kaylee, Assistant Community Manager.
"This past week I had the opportunity to engage with my local community through TT Serve. While at Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center, I assisted in revamping one of their obstacles on the riding trail. I think what I enjoyed most about this experience was the ability to work with other Thompson Thrift team members in a different environment. It was a great team building exercise! My key take away is that it's not about what you achieve individually, but in the positive impact we create together." – Samantha, Leasing Consultant.
“I had a lot of fun, it was cool to get to meet other people from the company and spend time helping a good cause.” – Sean, Service Technician.
Thank you to our team members for positively impacting the communities you serve!
